Well, I'm glad you're more comfortable here now.
"Well, it's even better now that your here. I never bothered to ask where you live, your house may get lonely tonight without you"
She replied coyly, a smirk on her face as she reached for a bottle of hard lemonade and joined him on the couch. She was careful to give him his space, sitting on the opposite end she had pivoted her body toward him and twisted the cap opened.
The sound of a light pop caught her ears, and she watched the soft white steam travel up from the bottle contents. When Sam asked what she wanted to play her mind automatically jumped to "Strip Poker".
"Anything that involves just taking our clothes off"
She was trying not to flirt so much but around Sam it just appeared to be natural. She shook her head, scolding herself and taking a drink of her hard lemonade.
Now that was just what she needed.
"Well, there is crazy eights, gin, or poker. I'm a gin fan' myself. By the way, Sam, I was meaning to ask you.. nothing about me being a witch bothers you does it? I mean, it must be weird for you being a normal human and having me go bat s*it crazy over a haunted room..."

"Well, it's even better now that your here. I never bothered to ask where you live, your house may get lonely tonight without you"
"I live in the big double wide next to the bar." he popped open his beer and took a long satisfying swing. It had been a long night and it was nice to just relax with a friendly face. It wasn't the house that was lonely he thought.
"Anything that involves just taking our clothes off"
Sam almost choked on his beer, but when she continued on he took it with the humour he presumed it was intended with. He considered the game thing. "I'm happy to play whatever you want. I'm you're guest." he smiled taking another sip of Budweiser.
Brandy brought up the witch thing. "I'm not freaked out, I mean. It's your thing right?" he continued "Though I really don't know much about it at all. But I try to be as open minded as I can." She called him normal, how completely not true that was. He wanted to tell her, to trust her with it. But being a Shifter is a lot more weird than casting spells. Or so he figured.
"Now about this game" he plastered on a grin

"I'm happy to play whatever you want. I'm you're guest."
"Now don't you be giving me any ideas.."
She was glad he knew her earlier comment was a joke, because she saw that he almost choked on his beer. She was meaning to change the subject anyway. By now, if she didn't flirt, he might think something was wrong.
"I'm not freaked out, I mean. It's your thing right? Though I really don't know much about it at all. But I try to be as open minded as I can."
As she watched him talk she had a sudden rush of heat come over her. And a sudden urge crawling underneath her skin as he reached for the cards to ask what game she wanted to play.
"I'm sorry"
She had crawled onto the couch then, there wasn't much room between them, and her slender digits reached delicately for the side of his face. She moved his face toward her, gently, and leaned forward as she pressed her full lips against his.

Sam was resting comfortably at one end of the sofa, enjoying the company of a frankly beautiful woman. A beautiful woman who had made numerous mentions about how much she liked him. He was determined to take it slow, get to know her. Playing cards seemed lame, but it was safe and relaxing and no expectations.
Sam was deep in thought when he vaguely heard Brandy's voice. I'm sorry Sam was about to ask what for when she was right next to him. Her hands gently caressed the side of his face, pulling him close and then...
BAM!
Her lips met his with a soft, gentle kiss. Shocked at first, Sam couldn't respond. It didn't take him long for his emotions to take over and he wrapped his arms around her and returned her kiss. The passion was undeniable and he almost let it consume him and who'd have blamed him? His brain took over and he pulled away slowly, "Whoah. We should uh slow down. This ain't right." he stammered awkwardly, trying to regain his composure. She sure made that difficult though.

Her body tingled with a flushed heat when his arms wrapped around her and he returned the kiss. That was why when he broke it and a look of worry flooded his face, she looked back at him with a confused expression.
"Whoah. We should uh slow down. This ain't right."
Not right? Her heart sank, why was he so scared? She never had anyone tell her that kissing her wasn't right. They just kissed, was he planning on taking her to the bedroom and s!xing her silly from one little kiss?
"Not right? Sam... are you scared I'm going to hurt you? I would never - - "
She had to stop herself, things were awkward enough already and his taste was still on her lips. Casually she reached for the cards and as if nothing had happened, and began to deal enough cards for Gin.
"Two's are wild, we just play until someone says gin and they become the winner. I'll get a pad and paper and we can play till 500"
She took off into the kitchen, trying to ignore her feelings as she rummaged for a pad and paper and returned to the room to sit down on the other side of the couch again. Reaching for her drink she took a sip, and reached for her cards.
The air felt heavy, and she couldn't even look at Sam at that moment. Instead she was just surely focused on the cards in her hand.
"Um... so, uh... whats your sign? Favorite color, favorite food? Never did learn even the basics yet..."
She felt so stupid.

Brandy was hurt and confused, he didn't need Sookie's ability to work that out. He didn't blame her, he just blew hot and cold in record time. He was so ashamed he couldn't bring himself to speak. She got up from the sofa and dashed off, changing the subject to card games and tallying scores.
"Um... so, uh... whats your sign? Favorite color, favorite food? Never did learn even the basics yet..." she wouldn't even look at Sam when she spoke. This was bad.
Sam inched forward slightly toward her. "Brandy" he said softly, reaching his hand out to her, but brought it back. Thinking it would be unappreciated. "You misunderstand me. It's not that I don't want to , I do. I really do." he started to explain and seemed unable to stop. "I do like you, a lot. More than I've liked anyone in a very long time. But I just don't want to rush it and spoil it with you. You deserve better than that." he leant into the back of the sofa and sighed. "I never meant to make you feel bad." he clasped his hands at the back of his head and looked upwards at the ceiling, thinking he'd blown it.

"Brandy, You misunderstand me. It's not that I don't want to , I do. I really do."
She didn't speak yet, she found herself nervously looking at her cards as if they were imprinted in gold. She could hear him quite clearly, but she couldn't bring himself to look at him just yet.
"I do like you, a lot. More than I've liked anyone in a very long time. But I just don't want to rush it and spoil it with you. You deserve better than that."
There was a look of surprise on her face, she looked at him slowly with a faint blush on her cheeks. Her heart was racing, and she really had no control over it.
"I never meant to make you feel bad."
".. I wanted to know what you tasted like. I guess I just want to be with you, you know - like a girlfriend. And everything is happening so fast, and I can't explain it but my body just. Bam! My lips had to have yours at that moment. But up until this moment, I haven't really had any notion that you liked me.. a lot.."
She could ramble on all night, and she looked up at the ceiling to tease him while she scooted closer to him so that their bodies touched.
"So,when your ready Sam, I expect the next kiss to be from you. And until you ask me, officially, to be your girlfriend - I will wait patiently for you. Until then, we can just enjoy the company."
She felt better now, lowering her gaze once again to her cards.
"Favorite color, favorite food and drink, and lastly what you look for in a person. And of course, your turn on's and turn off's. And you better not peek at my cards."

Sam hunched over, his arms draping over his blue jean clad knees. Everything he said to Brandy he meant, every single word. What he would give to be completely uninhibited, unafraid that every person wasn't looking out for his best interests. He felt Brandy's eyes upon him and he turned his face to hers. She seemed a little surprised at his confession. That was fair, he'd not exactly been forthcoming with any signs that he was interested.
She teased him with more flirtatious words and making it perfectly clear what she wanted. To be his. He was flattered beyond measure. He had cared for Sookie the same way, but it wasn't to be. Tara, well that was a mistake. Then there was Summer, who quite frankly scared him with her ferocity. To have a normal, fun smart woman wanting him gave him a much needed ego boost.
He noticed she was closer to him now and looked much happier. This made him smile, the last thing he wanted was to make upset her. He accidentally took an inhalation of her scent. He wasn't going to kid himself, it was fantastic. She was fantastic. It took him every part of his will power not to give in to the temptation.
the game he chided himself concentrate on the game Sam
"So,when your ready Sam, I expect the next kiss to be from you. And until you ask me, officially, to be your girlfriend - I will wait patiently for you. Until then, we can just enjoy the company."
Intentionally or not she wasn't making it easy for Sam to be the perfect gentleman. To not refrain from even one kiss, because he knew one would lead to two and that would lead to something else entirely. Sure it would no doubt be amazing, but he was determined show respect to her. Jason Stackhouse he was not, he couldn't just go to bed with every pretty girl that gave him the eye.
He shook himself out of the mental lecture he was giving himself and looked at Brandy as she asked him a few harmless questions. "You wanna know that borin' stuff?" he replied, quite obviously distracted.

"You wanna know that borin' stuff?
"If it is about you, I don't think it is boring."
She didn't know why it was important, she was just taught that if you didn't know at least your 'interest's' favorite color you didn't really know them at all.
She had put herself out there for him, so now there was nothing else to hide. At least, she didn't think there was. He knew now that she liked him, that she was interested (even though she made it pretty clear before with her body language.)
But at least now she knew that he was.
"To be honest, I was worried that if I didn't say something a girl would swoop you up. I know you said earlier you weren't exactly beating them off with a stick but it really is their loss. A girl could come by the bar tomorrow that you might have to beat with a stick, so at least you know that someone wants you back home."
Home. Oh right, suddenly the hotel room didn't seem like the greatest idea. But she didn't want to take advantage of him, maybe she could stay just a few days longer.
"Was there anything you wanted to know about me?"

Sam put his cards onto the coffee table and twisted himself round so he was looking at her straight on. "Okay, you want to know." he smiled, with a hint of teasing. "Hmm my favourite colour is blue. My favourite food is chili and my favourite drink is dr pepper. But I am partial to a few beers now and then." he smiled and nodded towards his pack of Budweiser." he focussed back onto Brandy. "What I look for in a person, is for them to be themselves. Let your personality shine through."
He thought over her other words, he was becoming more comfortable in her presence and her light hearted flirtatious nature was affecting him. "Maybe I don't want them all?" he raised an eyebrow and took a swig from his beer. One down, five to go.
"Was there anything you wanted to know about me?" The question was innocent enough. He was curious about her, there was no denying it.
"Okay, same questions back atcha" he smiled and popped open another beer.

Oh, she sure noticed that he turned his body and looked right at her. She could tell by her heart racing again, being this close to him - maybe it was a good thing the kiss had ended the way it did. Because, right at that moment, a kiss would of lead to another - and another - and then, well, just the thought made Brandy's body very hot and bothered.
"Hmm my favourite colour is blue. My favourite food is chili and my favourite drink is dr pepper. But I am partial to a few beers now and then."
Right then she had put her cards down on the table, the game was going to be put on hold. This was much more interesting, and she found herself nursing the hard lemonade till it was almost half-empty.
"What I look for in a person, is for them to be themselves. Let your personality shine through."
Oh, Brandy knew she sure had personality...there was no denying that.
"Maybe I don't want them all?"
There was a hint of flirtation in his voice which made her smile. Well, it made her smile and made her body react - the reason she was nursing that bottle to try and distract herself.
"Okay, same questions back atcha"
When he reached for another beer, she realized she was done her own and reached for another one as well. She didn't notice the pop quite as much as she did the first one - probably she was more distracted now.
"Me. Well, my favorite colors are dark pink - more of the fushia shade, violet - like the tulips, and black. Black is more of the witch thing. My favorite food is chicken chow mein with extra crunchy noodles on top and my favorite drink is pink lemonade.
And now for her turn' on's and turn off's. She paused for a moment, she had only been with two guys in her life time so what could say? Oh wait, technically Sam had dodged that question didn't he - sly!
"Well, what I look for in a person, or specially a man, is humility. I don't want someone who can get any girl that he wants because that usually means he will. Loyalty is important to me, protectiveness, I guess it is important to know I'm cared about. And of course, chemistry is important. I am a big believer in fate, but I tend to rush things because I hate to have them build up inside me."
She took another sip of her hard lemonade, and then leaned forward to pick up her cards. She had another confession to make, which was easy considering she felt like she could tell Sam anything.
"As far as who I want to be for someone else, is not only a lover.. but a best friend. I want to be a shoulder to cry on, a confidant - a smiling face to come home to. I want to be that someone who a guy would be proud to call his girlfriend"
In her hand she had arranged her cards, a curious look on her face since she made a point to make 2's wild. She would have no problem winning this hand.
"I think the loser should have to take their shirt off"
Oh yes, she really was that confident.

Sam listened intently to everything she said. She was articulate and open and very honest. It made him feel bad, because there was only so much he could be honest with her about. Telling someone you just met, witch or not the truth about what he was just wasn't smart. He had no idea how she would react, so put it on the backburner. For now.
I want to be that someone who a guy would be proud to call his girlfriend" Sam paid closer attention to this and smiled genuinely. "Any man would and should be proud to call you his girl. They'd be a fool not to." he wasn't lying and a part of him hoped he be that guy.
He was brought back into the here and now with a cheeky word from Brandy. "I think the loser should have to take their shirt off" he paused and gently laughed. "Well, don't be goin taking advantage of me now."

"Any man would and should be proud to call you his girl. They'd be a fool not to."
"Well, thank you Mr. Merlotte"
She playfully stuck her tongue out at him and initially started their game as she bent down to turn up the next card. She made it a point not to call him "Mr.Merlotte" too much, it just felt weird.
"Well, don't be goin taking advantage of me now."
She laughed again as she waited for him to play.
"Oh I think I already did, Sam"
It was nice she could laugh about it now, and for that reason she wouldn't want it any other way. She barely took notice as they continued to play the game that she was already on lemonade number 3 and was starting to feel it.
Hell, she may of been a witch - but she was still a human. Luckily for her, and maybe Sam as well, that her liquor of choice was only sold in a four-pack.
"Oh wow, I just thought of my mom right there. It was a random thought, but, I grew up being taught the wiccan way of life. Worship the goddess and all that stuff, I have been doing spells since I was four. Anyway, she wasn't too happy with me that I left, I'm going to get changed."
Yep. Blame the alcohol for her sudden change in thought. She put her cards down and stood up, stumbling toward the bedroom to where she usually put her clothes on. After a few minutes, some bumping and casual out spurts of *$hit, ouch, mthf*cker* and she emerged from the bedroom in a purple over - sized male's plaid dress shirt. Her buttons were a little off, but it covered what she needed to.
"My bad, my bad. I know. Anyway. Oh, I forgot. I think I am losing. Again."
She stared at her cards, her dark caramel hues squinting, and then she turned to look at him with a grin.
"You are so cute, you know that? And you just, your warm. Heh."
At this point, she had leaned against him, looking at her cards and then realizing he could see them she protectively held them toward her chest.
"No peeking! Say, I should make breakfast in the morning. But you have to be at work in the morning. Do you have time for breakfast in the morning?"
Oh dear, what time was it anyway? At that moment, when she reached for her last bottle, she didn't really care.

"Well, thank you Mr. Merlotte" he slightly cringed at being spoken to so formally, thankfully he could tell when she was teasing him and shrugged it off, choosing not to ask her to call him by his first name.
His head shook a little as she was knocking back her third drink. He considered it to be nerves as she began to tell a tale about her witch background. He gave an amused smirk at how cute she was when she went off on one of her little rambles. He had to admit he was still a little bewildered with the whole witch thing, but she was sweet and he didn't feel threatened by her.
Sam watched as she stood up and stumbled off towards the bedroom. He couldn't help but laugh when there were many swears coming at increasing volume making it's way into the living room. He swallowed hard when she walked back into the room clad in nothing but a purple plaid shirt that fit and no more. He thanked his lucky stars he'd only had two beers, anymore than that and well anything could happen.
"You are so cute, you know that? And you just, your warm. Heh." Brandy was leaning into him close and she seemed really relaxed, wether or not that was the drink or the company Sam didn't know. He fought every impulse to just wrap his arms around her and hold her. She pulled her cards close to her chest and jokingly chastised him for peeking. The game!" Sam totally forgot he'd left his cards on the table. She was that distracting?
Sam was about to pick up the cards from the table when he did a double take. Breakfast? He hadn't even thought about that yet. "I guess I don't need to be there till 10 or so. If I'm late Lafayette'll open up for me." the words were out before he even realised how they sounded.

"I guess I don't need to be there till 10 or so. If I'm late Lafayette'll open up for me."
"Oh, that is nice of him. He seems like a nice guy, definitely someone I would want backing me up in a fight. He doesn't look it, but I bet he can give a punch!"
Uh oh. She was getting loud and she knew it. She excused herself and blushed - forcing herself to calm down. Sam, she was sure, dealt with his fair share of loud people but she didn't want him to lose respect for her.
It was then she spotted her chips. Right of course, she had forgot about the chips! She had leaned over Sam to get the chips, and snatched them up. Just as she opened the bag, however, she felt her eyes getting a bit heavy.
What a day she had had.
"And your waitresses are really really pretty. I might have to bite their toes if they try and pick you up though - -"
Yeah, yeah! She could do that right? Just turn herself chibi and bite at their toes. Oh, the crazy thoughts of Brandy when she was sleepy and a little tipsy.
She had given up on the chips, and turned her attention back to her cards. Maybe if she just rested her head on his shoulder, just for a moment it would help wake her up.
It didn't take long for her drowsy, heavy eyes to fall asleep against him. Even as she slept her face had the faintest of smiles.
Boy, was she going to be embarrassed in the morning.
