"Yeah, I don't need much. Just a change of clothes and my toothbrush"
Oh, she wished it was that easy for her. If she went anywhere she usually went with two pairs of pants, three shirts, stomach medicine, four pairs of underwear and her makeup. Make up well, she usually didn't wear a lot of it, just enough that she didn't look like she just rolled out of bed.
"You know, I haven't, Never really had the opportunity until now."
"Oh, well I think you will like it. Really gets those natural cat - and - mouse instincts going. Your the hunter and the hunted - it's very exhilarating to play both roles"
And,when you were on a team you really needed your team work - it was a chance to really bond. At least in Brandy's mind.
"Until now that is. I'm real glad I get to share my first time with you"
Brandy laughed out loud with that one, she was surprised he would let that one just lie there when he knew how it sounded. He was quick to respond.
"You know what I mean."
"Oh of course. I think, just for tonight, I will that one just lie there"
She had a comment waiting on the back burner, she had to admit. When the duplexes came into view she couldn't help but to smile. They were better than a hotel. Sam stopped the truck and went around to the passenger side to open the door for her - Sam was a gentleman in every sense of the word.
Plus, she liked being able to hold onto his hand.
"Hop on down."
She did. Well, almost. At the last moment her foot seemed to catch on the door ledge and it awkwardly sent her less onto his hand and more into his whole body. She was really close to him, her body against his and her face just inches away.
There was that moment which followed. Her slender hands were on his chest, one underneath either shoulder blade, and she was silent. Just looking at him. Her heart racing.
Until she snapped herself out of it.
Nervously she looked away from him and straightened out her foot so that she could step off to the side. It really had been an accident, clumsiness on her part - stupid foot.
"Lookie at that, never had two left feet before. Sorry about that"
She smiled awkwardly and motioned toward the door.
"Guess we should get going, need to be alert for that game right?"
If she would even be able to get any sleep.

Sam laughed at his unintentional innuendo when Brandy laughed. At least he knew she wouldn't take it badly. She took his hand and started to climb out of the cab of the truck, but she missed her footing and fell into him. Time stood still for a brief moment as Sam held onto her. In part making sure she was alright and not likely fall and hurt herself, the other part enjoying being in such close proximity to her.
"Careful there" he said a little dazed.
There eyes locked with one anothers and there lips inches from each others. All it would take was for Sam to move just a bit closer. Suddenly Brandy pulled back, nervously. "Lookie at that, never had two left feet before. Sorry about that" she sounded embarassed or at the least awkward. Was this a first? "Guess we should get going, need to be alert for that game right?"
"Uh yeah" Sam replied, still a little dazed. He coughed and helped her down safely. "You okay?" he said genuinely concerned.

"You okay?"
"Just a little embarrassed that's all..
Why? Well, that was a good question. All this time she had been making the moves - all this time she had been so forward she could of coached a little league team with fierceness - and then...
They could of had 'that moment' and she was the one that turned away. Were the roles switching? Was she suddenly the one pulling away from them going that one step further?
"I actually filled the fridge with some food so if you want a snack before bed help yourself"
When they entered the duplex and she turned on the light, it was exactly the way she had left it. She tossed the keys on the kitchen counter and turned to look at Sam over her shoulder with a smile.
"I'm going to change into my pj's now, would you like me to make some tea so we can wind down a bit?"

"Just a little embarrassed that's all.. Sam smiled, "Nothin' to be embarassed about. Accidents happen." he couldn't seem to take his eyes off her. Here he was in the company of a beautiful woman and about to spend the night at her place again. Even if he wanted to do anything, nothing really could happen thanks to a early morning date with a paintball game.
Brandy offered some snacks, but Sam shook his head. "No it's alright, popcorn fair stuffed me out." he paused for a smile as he followed her inside the duplex. "thanks though."
"I'm going to change into my pj's now, would you like me to make some tea so we can wind down a bit?" Sam sat down on the sofa and made himself comfortable in the far left corner. He crossed one leg over the other, leaning his arm across the back. "A coffee would be great, but if you only have tea that's just as good." he sat up and draped his arms over his knees. "I can get everything ready if you want, while you change."

Brandy was a little surprised, well - scratch that - she was alot surprised that he wanted coffee. Could he really wind down with coffee in his system?
"I can get everything ready if you want, while you change."
"But.. won't coffee keep you awake instead of helping you to fall asleep? Uh, well, I have decaf in the cupboard if coffee is more your passion"
Decaf coffee, she also had regular if he so chose. Maybe coffee didn't affect him the way it did her, who knew? She disappeared into the bedroom and was soon changed into silk tweety-bird pajama's.
She didn't know why she skipped out on her usual pj' choice - what she wore the first night he was over. Either way, she brushed her hair and returned to the living room.
"I have to admit, coffee smells good though. If we weren't playing a game where we kinda needed.. uh, our full attention.. I would opt for the all-nighter"

Brandy seemed confused at Sam's choice of coffee over tea. He smiled as he raised to his feet and walked over towards the kitchen. "Nah, I'll be fine. If I'm beat, there aint much that can keep me awake."
Sam went into the kitchen and looked around all the cupboards and units looking for all the right items. Mugs, sugar..the coffee. He poured some water into the electric kettle and switched it on at the mains, then flicked the on switch and let it begin to slowly boil.
Brandy came back out minutes later, in the cutest pair of PJ's. He smiled, she looked adorable. "I have to admit, coffee smells good though. If we weren't playing a game where we kinda needed.. uh, our full attention.. I would opt for the all-nighter"
Sam smiled and his heart skipped a little at the notion. Another time he told himself. Maybe Sunday, when the bar is closed. He dulled the voices in his head and tilted his head to her. Realising he hadn't even begun to make anything. "Uh, do you want coffee? Or is tea good, I'll make whatever you want." he smiled, he couldn't help himself. Even though he served people for a living. He felt he owed her something for letting him crash on her sofa.

Even though he had insisted coffee wouldn't keep him up, she still had her doubts. But hey, the only reason why she had suggested tea was so she could spend those extra moments with him before bed.
When she had come out, she saw the smile on his face and she couldn't help but to blush. Did he really think she looked cute? She wasn't even trying this time!
And then, as expected, he offered to make her tea. She politely shook her head and took a seat on the couch.
"I just wanted a couple more minutes with you before I fell asleep. You can take a break tonight from serving others."
She flashed him a smile.
"I enjoyed the movie, thanks for taking me. And thanks for coming with me tomorrow, the game wouldn't be the same without you"

"I just wanted a couple more minutes with you before I fell asleep. You can take a break tonight from serving others." Sam's heart melted, she was just the sweetest thing. She declined the drinks, but Sam made himself up a coffee to help him relax.
Brandy smiled at him, "I enjoyed the movie, thanks for taking me. And thanks for coming with me tomorrow, the game wouldn't be the same without you" Sam moved from the kitchen to the sitting room and sat down on the sofa next to Brandy, taking a small sip from his coffee. He closed his eyes and smiled, it was just right. He opened his eyes and turned his head towards her. "It was my pleasure. I had a lot of fun with you." he moved his body round a little so he could face her. "I dunno about this whole paintballing thing. But I'll do it, for you."

"It was my pleasure. I had a lot of fun with you."
Brandy smiled, that was what she was hoping he would say. Being in his company, was starting to feel like second nature to her. They hadn't known each other for that long but.. it didn't seem to matter at all to her.
"I dunno about this whole paintballing thing. But I'll do it, for you."
"You mean you aren't eager to shoot Jason with paintballs? You know he will be gunning for you Sam, best be wearing extra padding in all those happy-fleshy area's."
Brandy was grinning wickedly, nothing like challenging a man's fierce nature to get him excited in a game. Once he was able to let loose, Brandy figured he would do just fine.
"And besides, I think I chose good teams. You will have fun tomorrow, and if you don't - well, I'll just find a way to make it up to you later'

Sam and Brandy were sitting on the sofa, close together but not overly. Sam had to admit, that this feeling was good. No, better than good. It was great, just kicking back and relaxing with a great person. It was a bonus that Brandy was amazing to look at.
"You mean you aren't eager to shoot Jason with paintballs? You know he will be gunning for you Sam, best be wearing extra padding in all those happy-fleshy area's." Sam almost choked on his coffee and squirmed at the thought of anything like that happening below the belt. "Well, I'll just have to get to him first." Sam replied with wicked grin to match Brandy's. Now he was starting to look forward to this. Even if it did mean getting up at the most absurd time.
"And besides, I think I chose good teams. You will have fun tomorrow, and if you don't - well, I'll just find a way to make it up to you later'
"I'll trust your judgement on that." he took another sip of his coffee which was now at perfect drinking temperature, he'd left it so long that it was starting to cool off. He raised an eyebrow at the suggestive part of her words. She was back on form he smiled. "Well, we'll just have to wait and see." Two can play at that game he smirked.

"I'll trust your judgement on that."
Brandy could only smile at that.
"Well, we'll just have to wait and see."
Oh, she caught that alright. He was teasing her, and she could of sat up with him all night just being in his company. But even at that thought she was yawning. She was usually the first one down for a night wasn't she?
"Sure, make me want to throw the game -"
On that notion, she was already rising up to her feet - stretching out her tired muscles.
"I should head to bed now, so you don't have to carry me again. Can you wake me up in the morning? I guess it is only 4 hours away. I'm gonna need that coffee in the morning - -"
Tomorrow was going to be a loooonnggg day.

"Sure, make me want to throw the game -" Brandy quickly batted back a smiling reply to his teasing words. He just grinned at her, something else was turning out to be fun and that was the teasing innuendo. Sam was a little disapointed that there date was coming to a close. But it was a good night, one he wanted to make sure they'd repeat.
"I should head to bed now, so you don't have to carry me again. Can you wake me up in the morning? I guess it is only 4 hours away. I'm gonna need that coffee in the morning - -" Brandy said as she stood up and headed for her bedroom. Sam instinctively stood up alongside her. "Sure, I'll set my watch so I don't sleep in." he watched as she slinked off to her room to catch some sleep.
He muttered to himself about not taking chances and took off his boots and socks and settled onto the sofa, pulling the throw over himself and trying to catch some sleep himself. Probably just as well were the last thoughts to cross his mind as he fell into a deep sleep.

Brandy woke up without having Sam there to shake her awake. However, as she laid there staring at the ceiling for those few moments she wondered if she should pretend to be asleep anyway.
It was during this thought that she heard a small, almost inaudible beep coming from the living room. Her internal clock seemed to have been working overtime. With a yawn she got out of bed and turned on the bedroom light so that Sam would know she was up.
Around the room she maneuvered, gathering up the clothes she had planned to wear. Why did she choose such an early start time? Because her gut told her too. She knew better than to go against that.
Camouflage pants, a black scoop-neck top, and a hat. The perfect paintball outfit she thought. With a grin she darted out to the living room and waved to Sam before she dipped in the shower.
Coffee. Coffee sounded really good right then, she wondered if he would make some while he waited to use the shower next.

The faint beeping grew louder and louder and Sam let out a low growl as he reached over to grab it and switch it off. He was starting to regret the pre-sleep coffee. He forced himself to sit upright, the throw still draped over his legs. He took note of Brandy's bedroom light turning on. "sh*t" he swore under his breath, remembering he was to wake her up.
She came quickly into living room and with a smile and a wave she scooted off towards the bathroom. He slowly got up off the sofa and made his way into the kitchen, barefoot. Time for another coffee he thought and started to get things organised for a much deserved caffeine ejection.

Once the shower was all done and Brandy was ready for the day, she felt fresh and ready to take on the world. Even as she opened the door, she could spot Sam in the kitchen and she couldn't help but to grin.
If she could wake up to him every morning she would be one happy witch. Speaking of witchcraft, she had to remember to set time aside to keep it up. It wasn't something that you lost, but with more practice it did make you stronger.
She was feeling pretty confident in her magic as of late. Maybe it had something to do with her being so happy. How could she not be? The world was right as rain at that moment.
Casually she made her way to the kitchen, and leaned against the counter. Boy, did he ever look tired.
"Good morning sunshine, I knew you shouldn't of had that coffee. Now your going to be all sleepy and your going to get your butt kicked. I should of picked a different partner"
She playfully stuck her tongue out at him.
