The pair of jeans, the plaid shirt and the pair of boxers that Brandy had worn to the duplex were now bundled up on the seat of Sam's truck. Brandy now wore her coral pink dress which she never thought she would ever have such a perfect opportunity to adorn.
The night air was cool and fresh, the lingering smell of freedom was in the air and it carried the ruffles in her dress around her lower legs. Brandy took in a gentle breath, and leaned against the hood of the truck. She was waiting patiently for Sam to change into his favorite form, her brown hues glistening toward the moon.
That moon. Up until this night, Sam had dreaded that moon - now, she would make sure he would look forward to it. She would make sure he wasn't ashamed of myself anymore.. because he could now share his fate with her.
Everything would be back to 'normal' tomorrow but for tonight, it was time for her and Sam to embrace the night together.

Sam looked over at Brandy, who had changed into a beautiful pink dress. Just when he thought she couldn't be anymore beautiful, she outdoes herself again. Sam had stopped undressing for a moment to just gaze at her radiance. He couldn't help himself, he had to see her before her changed. Even if it meant forcing the change to halt for a few moments.
He walked up beside her, clad in only his trademark blue jeans. He reached out for her hand. "Listen, I really am glad you wanted to come with me tonight. I wish there were the words to thank you." he looked deep into her brown eyes. "It really means a whole lot to me that you're cool with this."
He cringed a little as his skin tingled and grew steadily hotter. He wouldn't be able to hold on for much longer. "Not long now" he said, the words almost choking him. He took a deep breath and held it back for a little bit longer, but his legs began to buckle underneath him and he fell to his knees. He looked up at her with adoring eyes. "Can I have one minute with you like this, before I change?" he was almost begging. Desperately clinging on to one last shard of his humanity.

When he approached her, shirtless and only in his blue jeans - she felt herself getting hot and her heart was pounding rapidly. The faintest of blushes on her dark cheeks, and the sudden urge to want to make love to him right there was almost too much. Could he see that expression her face? He had reached for her hand and she mentally shook her sudden impulse away.
"Listen, I really am glad you wanted to come with me tonight. I wish there were the words to thank you."
"oh.. don't worry.. seeing you only in jean's is thanks enough.."
How he managed to still look in her eyes after that, she didn't know. She was trying her hardest to be in the moment, but alas.. there were times she just couldn't help herself.
"It really means a whole lot to me that you're cool with this."
Finally, she was able to collect herself enough to offer him a gentle nod. She couldn't help but to give him a look of worry when he physically cringed. She could tell it was coming too.
"Not long now"
Brandy was standing there, her eyes on him and soft with worry. She knew what he was going through was natural but seeing him drop to his knees was hard for her. If she could, she would of stopped it - if only to save him that brief moment of discomfort.
"Can I have one minute with you like this, before I change?"
The way he looked up at her, his blue eyes almost pleading with her had caused her heart to swell. She nodded and slid her body down so that she was next to him. Fluidly in motion her arms had reached around his shoulders and she pulled him close to her body to let him change, right in her arms.
"Of course you can.. Sam.. you don't even have to ask."

Brandy dropped to her knees right beside Sam, wrapping her arms around him. Even though he felt hotter than hell, his body was trembling with the effort needed to hold onto his human shape.
"Of course you can.. Sam.. you don't even have to ask."
With one last effort he moved his face to hers, gently stroking her cheek with the back of his hand. Letting it slide downwards till it rest under her chin. Breathlessly he pressed his lips gently to hers, he craved this brief moment of joy. The feel of her lips, the taste.
Sam mouthed the words 'Thank You' before he could hold on no longer. His body vibrating with immense energy, his skin on fire and within seconds Sam was gone and only a collie dog and a pair of blue jeans remained.
The dog sat there with a look of doggy happiness. It's tail wagging excitedly.

Even as he changed in front of her, his taste still lingered on her lips. She watched, quite in wonderment, the brief moment that it took and when his collie form remained - panting and wagging his tail - she leaned over and kissed the top of his head.
She had maneuvered herself so that she was kneeling in front of him, her hands rubbing behind his ears and down his neck, finally to give him a pat on the back as if she didn't believe he was really a dog. She stood up, and walked around him slowly - even going as far to bend over and examine his belly and his legs. And then she reached her hands for his tail, lightly running her fingers from his butt to the tip.
He felt real alright. It was amazing, why had he even been ashamed? There was no times for thoughts like that now, as she crossed her arms and grinned. She looked around quickly and she couldn't see a soul for miles - with the forest looming ahead in front of them she just wanted to take off running down the beaten path.
"Let's just run Sam. Get some energy out. Don't go too fast though, I want to keep up"
She figured calling him by his name would be alright, seeing there was no one around. But for good measure, she decided to lean down a bit to address him before they started running.
"If you hear anybody, just bark."

Even though now in his canine form, Sam still had some of his human wits about him. The amazement and awe in Brandy's eyes made him so happy his tail wagged even faster. This was even more of an acceptance than Sookie. It meant a hell of a lot more to, to have this bond of absolute trust. She would never betray him.
He panted and continued to wag his tail enthusiastically as Brandy gave him the once over. Petting him and stroking his fur, it almost felt like she was making sure she wasn't crazy and that she had seen what she saw.
Standing up, she had a huge grin on her face. Completely satisfied she wasn't going mad and that her boyfriend had indeed became a dog. She really didn't care, really didn't get weirded out. Because saying and doing are often unconnected.
"Let's just run Sam. Get some energy out. Don't go too fast though, I want to keep up"
Sam the collie padded forward ahead of her and then back to her. This was one happy little dog. He nuzzled her hand gently and sat by her side.
"If you hear anybody, just bark."
Sam looked upwards to her smiling face and agreed with a half growl, half whine. Then he stood up and ran off into the tree line, hoping she would catch up to him.

Brandy had always liked dogs. They were loyal, they were companions, and they were familiar. The only difference for her between Sam and his collie form, was that she wasn't constantly thinking about the next time they would be in bed together.
Sam had understood her in this form, she just assumed that he would have some human senses to him. They didn't discuss that at all, he had seemed too excited about her being with him that night to care. And she was just too happy to see him so happy that she completely forgot to ask.
They had that moment where they looked at each other, and then he bee-lined for the tree line. She nodded, and took off running after him. This whole moment, her feet pounding against the ground - the rushed night air coursing through her veins and the exhilaration of following behind him was very elaborating. Had it of been appropriate - as in, behind the comfort of closed doors, she might of just skipped the dress entirely.

Sam raced on ahead, his paws hitting the ground running. There was nothing like this, no feeling he could equate to this. No disrespect to Brandy but it was a different sort of feeling. Even if he could admit how he felt about her, it would still be the same. Running in canine form was about as liberating an experience as you can get. He only wished Brandy could experience it the same way he did.
Brandy. Sam came to a halt to look around for her. His head tilting to one side, trying to catch her footsteps. Or her breath or her wonderful scent. Sure enough she came running out from the treeline.
He ran all the way up to her, jumping up and wagging his tail furiously. He let out a small bark, but not of alarm, only of happiness and he turned and headed back off again.
Sam ran so fast, he didn't realise his paws were wet. It slowed him down to a sudden stop. He whimpered and padded back out. Waiting for his beloved to find him. So he sat patiently, it wouldn't be long before she caught up with him.

Now Brandy was no animal, she simply didn't have the leg power to keep up with Sam. She knew the general direction he had been heading and as he stopped ahead and ran toward her, she nodded in reassurance.
Only to have him take off running again. A soft laugh left her lips, he defiantly wasn't used to being around a human in this form and it would appear more.. animalistic instincts just naturally took over.
He was way ahead of her, but not so far ahead that she would never catch up to him. Her running had slowed to a steady jog, then to a walk. She was just admiring everything around her - the smells, the sights, the sounds. It would of been a perfect night to practice her magic but tonight she was there for him and not for herself.
Brandy emerged from the path, stopping in her spot her mouth dropped in awe for a moment. Did this scene ever look beautiful, the way the moon reflected itself in the water - the way the dock looked against the darkness and a thin overhead light lit up a small path at the end of the dock.
She turned her head and saw Sam, waiting patiently for her. His paws looked damp and a bit of his body did as well. She smirked toward him and shook her head to tease him.
"Having a bit too much fun eh Sam?"
Brandy kicked off her sandals from there, and walked onto the pier. She took notice of the way the boards felt underneath her bare feet, and the way the small ripples of water looked between the slender cracks of wood. She walked until she neared the edge, and then she sat down to slip her feet into the cold, murky water.
She just sat there for a moment, her eyes staring out into the darkness, her legs casually swirling into the depths underneath her. She turned her head to look toward Sam, wondering if he would join her - or if he just wanted to keep on running.

Sam shook off the excess water trapped in his fur, was one of the downfall's of shifting into a dog. He looked over and Brandy had sat at the edge of the pier, her feet dipping gently into the water. She peered over her shoulder at him.
He walked up to her, his paws clicking against the wooden beams and he sat down next to her. Unable to resist the doggy urge to lick her face. Well, that'll be embarassing in the morning.
He looked out over the lake, it always looked so peaceful. Moreso at night and with the full moon hung high in the night sky, it looked glorious. He looked back at Brandy and snuffled in her ear. What he'd give to be able to shift back for a few moments.

Brandy giggled as she felt Sam's tongue against her face. She couldn't help it! It just tickled so much. She playfully pushed him away, wiping the slobber off with the back of her hand.
It was surreal, from anybody else who might of been out that night - it looked like just a pretty girl, in a pretty dress, out on the dock with her dog.
Brandy's free hand ran over his body, petting him gently as she looked out toward the lake. Once again she was giggling as she felt him snuffle against her ear.
"Aww... stop that, silly. Your going to get me all going and I can't even do anything about it"
Ha! At that she hoped nobody was around to hear it. They would probably think... no, no, no, she didn't even want to think like that. Instead, she shook the thought away and continued to pet him again.
"Would you look at that? It's so beautiful out here, I just want to take off my dress and swim for a hour. I want to spend every last moment I possibly can with you before I have to leave for Dallas for a couple of nights tomorrow"
A soft sigh left her lips and she leaned her head against him, kicking at the water slowly. She didn't want this night to ever end. Finally, after a moment, she stood up to her feet and after a quick look around she reached down to pull her dress over her head and onto the dock.
She had underwear on, of course, a white bra and a matching pair of white lace panties. It was just like wearing a bikini, after all, and she grinned playfully at Sam before she dived into the cold water below.

She sighed and leant her head against him. Even though Sam wasn't in his human form, it felt good. Not as good as if he weren't in dog form. But this was second best, and being around Brandy was more than enough.
Suddenly she rose to her feet and pulled the dress off over her head. Standing in matching white underwear and grinned at Sam before she dove off the pier and right into the lake below.
Sam paused for a moment, and took off back down the pier then disappearing into the trees. It was silent for a few moments other than the soft wind through the trees and the rippling of the water.
Then he came bounding out, running as fast as his legs could carry him and he leaped right into the water. Getting dragged underneath the depths. A minute or so passed and suddenly the water bubbled and Sam's human head shot up from the water. Gasping for air and grinning from ear to ear.
"Surprise!" he shouted with an excitable laugh.

Brandy was a decent swimmer, she was under the water for a few moments as her body got adjusted to the coldness. When she finally lifted her head from the water, she was expecting to see Sam sitting on the dock looking at her curiously.
He was not there, she had turned around in the water - a confused look on her face.
"Sam?"
She yelped when he poked his head out of the water.. his human head. He was grinning wickedly, and she was looking at him with a confused look on her face.
"Surprise!"
"Sam, oh my lord! How did you? I thought you couldn't...?"
She laughed too, she couldn't help it. Seeing him like this, in front of her - with the liquid darkness around their bodies, was so invigorating.
She moved herself around him, bringing her body close to his which had seemed much easier to do in the lake than it was in his trailer or in the bar. She hoped he was a good enough swimmer to hold both of them there in the water, and even if he wasn't.. she could keep herself up long enough.
She just wanted this opportunity to run her fingers through his hair, to have him close to her.. under the moonlight, just her and him completely alone.
"Two sleeps.. that's it Sam. And then, when you pick me up from the airport we can go straight to the duplex and grab my stuff.. we don't even have to wait."

"Sam, oh my lord! How did you? I thought you couldn't...?"
Brandy was startled and the look of shock on her face was priceless. Soon she started laughing along with Sam. She swam over towards him, under the water he slipped his arms round her waist and she ran her fingers through his dripping wet hair.
"Two sleeps.. that's it Sam. And then, when you pick me up from the airport we can go straight to the duplex and grab my stuff.. we don't even have to wait."
This time the mention of the trip didn't encourage a grimace on his face. Wether it was the heat of the moment, or the excitement of having her with him on this night. He didn't care about anything else. Only the hear and now.
"It's crazy, but..." he held her a little closer, "It feels right." he moved in towards her and pressed his lips to hers. He figured he wouldn't have a lot of time before he felt the urge to shift back into collie form. He pulled away slowly, not wanting the moment to end.
"I can hold on for a little bit. Seeing you in the water like this was too much not to force myself back. I needed this." he moved in for another kiss.

"It's crazy, but...It feels right."
And then he pressed his thin lips against hers...
"... your lips always feel right"
What a smile.. what a taste. She was giddy, like a school girl around him and the look that she had in her pretty brown eyes was only for him. That look of.. craving as she maneuvered her legs around his waist and pulled herself closer just as he pulled her closer to him..
"I can hold on for a little bit. Seeing you in the water like this was too much not to force myself back. I needed this."
"So did I..."
She was looking deep into his eyes and she started kissing him again. His lips, his chin, his face, his forehead - her lips lingering everywhere and her breath began to get heavy.
Oh, this wasn't fair and this was too tempting, she would end up taking him right then and there in the lake. She leaned back, dipping her head into the cool water as she held her breath to cool herself off.
Once her head was back out of the water she leaned her head against his with a smile, and a soft laugh.
"Maybe tomorrow night.. we can even have a little phone sex?"
